Istria's olive oil
2000 years olive oil culture
For over 2000 years, farmers in Istria have cultivated a wide variety of local and imported olive varieties. Since the peninsula is located in the northernmost growing area for olive trees, the warm but not too hot summers and mild winters, provide the best conditions for the cultivation of olive groves.
Besides the particular geography and the optimal climate, the most important factor is the soil. Most of the peninsula is free of pesticides and toxins, which makes the olive oil organic, high quality and authentic. Istrian olive oil contains many health-promoting properties. It is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and also contains polyphenols, which have strong antioxidant properties.

Their deep roots are symbolically represented in their logo, as well as the olive tree, as a sign of permanence, fertility and health.
